3.5 Inch Bronze Butter Lamp with Curved Cup
This butterlamp is made of bronze and measures approximately 3.5 inches tall. Tibetan butterlamps are used as offerings of light to be placed on a shrine. Tibetans traditionally burn butter in them, but vegetable oil may be used as well. A wick can be made out of cotton wound around a toothpick that is placed in the hole in the center of the cup. A votive candle may also be placed in the cup in lieu of butter or oil for a cleaner burn. Made in Nepal.
