Blue Dragon on Yellow Background

This piece of art was painted by Tashi Palden with gouache on paper.  It depicts a sky blue dragon flying with norbu, wish-fulfilling jewels, in its claws.  It is floating amongst green clouds against a yellow sky.  According to Tibetan belief, the dragon thunders in the sky with the sound of compassion that awakens beings from delusion and increases wisdom in those who hear it. Displaying an image of a dragon in one’s home is said to protect one from slander and enhance one’s reputation.
